There are no vital records or other direct documentation showing that George Farquahar was the father of Mary Farquahar who, it is reported, married Jabez Maud Fisher,281 nor to firmly pin down George’s parentage. There is enough secondary reporting with consistent primary documentation, without conflicts or visible alternatives, that I am reasonably comfortable with the story. Briefly, there was a single Farquhar family geographically close to the Fisher family, with intermingled friends and associates, at the appropriate point in time.
