Samuel moved around some. He was living in Union Township, Berks County in 1833, when he married. He and his family were in the Borough of Pottstown, Montgomery County from 1836 through 1841.595,596 Tax lists do not show him with any real or personal property. Pottstown is about ten miles from Union, where his brother Joseph and sister Mary Ann also lived and had ties, and five miles from Coventry, where both these siblings were in 1840. Samuel is reported to have moved from Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, to Pottsville, near Minersville,597 where he lived from 1850 to at least 1870.598,592
